My Skincare Routine

Grab some tea or water and use the bathroom because this is going to be a long one. I posted on my current skincare products on my Instagram a few days ago and I asked if you guys wanted more details so here we are!

Before we get into the products let me tell you about my skin. I am normal/oily and prone to acne. Normal/oily meaning I am normal on the outer parts of my face and oily on my t-zone. Having oily skin I am more prone to break outs and clogged pores. That being said if you are not cleansing the skin properly that can lead to SO many problems. I've always been into skincare but it was just recently that I told myself I really need to put more time into it. 1 month before my wedding I noticed the stress was definitely taking a toll on my skin. I had so many white heads on my chin, dry patches on my cheeks, and my acne was just out of control. I was really depressed because I was on Pinterest and saw all these beautiful brides with glowing clear skin. I needed to be THAT bride that glowed from the heavens without the help of a highlighter. Seriously.

OH and another thing that hit me hard was that I was turning 28. My skin looked 28. Does that make sense? I legit want to look 21 again without going through that awful drinking phase and partying. I started to watch YouTube videos on Korean skincare products and I noticed all these girls had really clear gorgeous glowing skin. I needed that. I literally went online and bought everything that I saw those girls use. Months later of testing and trying out products I have FINALLY cleared up my skin and this is the best it has been in a very long long longggggg time. I haven't had a break out in 3-4 months and the texture of my skin is so smooth. I still have some redness on my cheeks and large pores but I honestly believe its heredity and I got that from my dad. Thanks.

WARNING: my routine might sound insane and long but it is so worth it once you see the change.

AM SKIN

A thing that I do EVERY morning is that I cleanse my face and rinse with cold water. It helps tighten my pores and I have noticed that I don't get as oily after my makeup application. I have been using the Neogen Green Tea foaming cleanser for the last 3 months and I love it. Removes all the oil and dirt without leaving that tight dry feeling. Right after I use the Neutrogena Pore Refining Toner. This stuff is amazing. Really tightens up my pores and removes any dirt or oil that was left over. It's so satisfying to look at my cotton round after and see all that nasty gunk removed. Next I go in with my Missha Intensive Essence. This helps hydrate my skin and also brightens. I tested this and the SK-II Facial Treatment Essence and I actually like the Missha more. It absorbs into my skin really quick and leaves a smooth canvas for the rest of my products. How I apply this is I splash a bit of this into the palm of my hand and rub my hands together and gently pat and roll the product into my skin. I do not rub any products on the face because you are dragging and pulling on the skin. We don't have that much collagen left so we gotta save what we have left. I could go into the patting motion and the benefits but that is for another time. YOUTUBE IT! Next the MOST important product for any anti aging fanatic and that is sunscreen. You CANNOT leave the house without sunscreen on. Sunscreen helps protect the skin from the damaging rays of the sun. If you are not using SPF think of an older lady that has been tanning for years and her skin has a leather effect to it. Gross eh? My favorite SPF is the Osmotics Age Prevention SPF 45. This is extremely light weight and sinks into the skin fast without leaving a white residue behind. I have been using this one for over 4 years and I swear by it. A little goes a long way with this stuff. After all that I apply my LOreal Hydra Genius Moisturizer. This stuff is sooooo good. My skin always feels so fresh and plump. It totally is a drink of water for my skin. Very comparable to the Belif True Cream Aqua that everyone loves. Lastly is my Kiehl's Avocado Eye Cream. This eye cream helps moisturizers my under eyes without feeling heavy. I cannot say if it helps with bags or dark circles just because I don't have it. I will say my concealer doesn't crease since I started using it. I like to spray my face after with the Mario Badescu Rose Water to just lock all that goodness in. It is extremely light weight that you can barely tell its even on. I have gone through 3 bottles of this stuff in the last 2 months. Yeah, I love it a lot. This is also a great dupe for the MAC Studio Fix Plus. Sets makeup the same and its a lot cheaper!

PM SKIN
PM is where all the fun is. This is my favorite part of the day. Taking all the makeup off and spending 45 mins on my skin is my jam. If you think I'm crazy read up on the Korean actresses. First step that I always do is remove all my makeup with a wipe. I have been using the Neutrogena Makeup Removing wipes for years now and it will remain as my go to. I didn't include it in the photo just because I used my last wipe last night and I have to go get more. Oops. Everynight I double cleanse using an oil first then I go in after with my regular cleanser. The oil I have been loving is the Philosophy Purity Oil. The double cleansing step is a game changer. You are probably thinking isn't that what the cleanser and wipes are for? Yes and no. Using the oil really gets deep in there to remove makeup and dirt that have been sitting in the pores. Trust me try it and you will see and feel the difference. Now we are back to the Neogen Green Tea Foaming Cleanser. I love green tea for everything. I drink it almost everyday so why not use it on my face also. Another thing I forgot to mention about the Neogen cleanser is that there are real green tea leaves at the bottom of the bottle. REAL ingredients? Uh yeah I am all over it. For my toner I switch it up by using the Son & Park Beauty Water. This really hydrates my skin and helps calms the redness on my cheeks. Great for all skin types. When I don't use this I notice in the morning my cheeks are all blotchy and feels irritated. The reason why I don't use the Neutrogena Toner at night is because it is too harsh with the other products I use for night time. This is the thing about playing and testing products. You gotta see what works together and what doesn't. Something new that I just discovered is Tru SkinVitamin C Serum. This has changed my skin so much! My acne scars have faded and any wrinkles/fine lines that I was worried about before is completely gone! I could go on and on about it but then this would ever end. There are so many forms of vitamin c now. Find what works for you and use it religiously. Another thing to think about is to really look at the ingredients on the products that you are using. Using too much of the same thing isn't all that beneficial. On top of the vitamin c serum I love using it together with the Pixi Rose Oil Blend. This gives my skin that glow that I have been desperately wanting. Face feels rejuvenated and just over all looks more youthful. So for night time moisturizer I like to switch it up. This Corsx Rice Sleeping Masking is great for all skin types. Even though this is a sleeping mask I like using this as a moisturizer few times a week. Light weight and you can barely feel it on the face. Whenever I think of night time products I always think of something heavy and thick. Not the case with this. For the rest of the week I use my LOreal Hydra Genius

I am not sure if you noticed but hydration and moisture is the key. Even though I have oily skin I have to combat that with hydrating products so that it evens out the sebum production. Using something drying can make you more oily. You don't want to strip the skin of its natural oils. Trust me I've done that before and it was a hot mess.

MASKS
I have been sheet masking every night for the past 4 months and my skin is loving it. Doing this every night helps a lot with texture and any dry patches you may have. Also using different masks you get different benefits. I have ones for wrinkles, ones for acne, ones for moisture. There are so many you can choose from. These Mizon sheet masks are my favorites right now. Has a ton of essence and absorbs quickly. Another favorite brand is Leaders. They are expensive but worth every penny. You can find them sometimes at Marshalls & TJ MAXX for dirt cheap. Using a sheet mask every night is my "ME TIME". I get to relax for 20 mins and also have a spa night. My husband is so used to seeing me every night with these on. Nothing new to him anymore. Now, my once a week detox is the Aztec Indian Healing Clay. Mixing this with Apple Cider Vinegar and a drop of tea tree oil is a mask made in heaven for oily skin. Sucks all the gunk out and really tightens the pores. You can see and feel it tighten the skin as it dries. Pretty insane. After though you will be left with a red face but that is totally normal. The redness will disappear within 30 mins. NOTE if you are using this clay mask rinse with room temperature water. Using hot water can feel like it is burning & rinse in the shower. This clay can clog your sink once it dries.

Ok, I know all this sounds insane but trust me your skin will thank you in the end. Giving it what it needs and more will benefit you in the long run. Also using the right products means you can prolong botox LOL. If there is anything you want more information on feel free to email me or DM on Instagram!

Modern day Western

These past couple of months I have really been into Western inspired trends. Yes, I said Western. I am obsessed with big buckle belts, denim on denim, and just popping on a bandana for some color. I've had this belt for a while now and I literally wear it with everything. I honestly mean EVERYTHING. It just adds some personality to the outfit without over doing it.  I recently got these Topshop jeans but I already know that I am going to wear them to death this summer. Being short it's really hard for me to find something that fits me length wise. The raw hemming also is just effortless. It is everywhere and I love it. Sometimes something so clean and tailored is a bit boring.  LINKS Jeans: Topshop Dree Flare Jeans Top: Wilfred Free Divina T-Shirt Belt:   Topshop Double Buckle Belt Bag: Mansur Gavriel Saffiano Mini Bucket Boots: Similiar Style L.

ALICE IN WONDERLAND

My style has always been really simple but lately I feel like this is the most casual I've ever been. I try to stray away from more trendy pieces when I am shopping. I try to buy things I know I can wear with everything and for a few more years. Seriously, mom jeans and a good duster can go a long way. Not to mention mom jeans really suck it all in without me trying so that is a plus for me. This is a prime example of what you would usually see me wearing high waisted jeans with a shirt tucked in with mules. I don't even know where to begin to tell you my love for mules. The best shoes for a lazy person and I find them to be extremely versatile. Less is more when it comes to clothes and shoes for me.
